I think John Reynolds just said that waymo and cruise are already permitted to operate 24/7 across the city? I might have misheard him though. He was clarifying what the vote today was about, and that it is about them being able to charge for the service, and not about whether they can operate 24/7 or not.
@zzlk Yeah, he just said that cruise may already offer a non-fared passenger service 24/7 throughout the city without a safety driver present. So, I would say that is a "robo-taxi" service, it's just that the price is $0.
New market on whether both Cruise and Waymo will be approved to charge for rides citywide 24/7.

From the article:
Correction: A previous version of this article stated that the Aug. 10 hearing would potentially allow Waymo to operate 24/7 throughout the whole city. Waymo is already permitted to operate throughout the whole city 24/7; the hearing is instead related to commercialization efforts that will allow the company to charge for rides.
Based on this, this market should resolve yes? The market description is very vague, and in light of this correction, it apparently references a vote that will not actually take place.
(I bought yes, but am personally fine with the market resolving N/A)
@VitorBosshard I might resolve this N/A and then open a new market "Waymo will be allowed to charge for rides 24/7 throughout the whole city". I will give 24 hours for other market participants to chime in.
@VitorBosshard Reading the article again, Cruise is currently still not allowed to operate 24/7 in San Francisco. Waymo is allowed to operate, but not allowed to charge for rides. This market can still stand as-is.
