NO
Resolves yes if I can easily see a list of one or more of: - Username: 153 shares of Yes - Username: m5 on Yes (either expected value or sale price) If the "bets" tab replaces "a trader" with usernames, that doesn't suffice, as it doesn't easily tell me what everyone's current positions are. Small print: I will not trade in this market. I will not resolve based an API, browser extension, or other tool, just the provided browser interface.

Looks like this resolves no. Let me know if I'm missing a way to do this.

@MartinRandall Looking forward to when they get Gurkenglas' request worked through and merged, but at this time I know of no way to see all open positions in the default Manifold interface.

2y

Looks like this triggers

@ian insider trading opportunity if you can get the pr in by eod

It has been fascinating watching this market update and I'm curious why the first few bettors didn't take all the alpha.

predictedNO 2y

@MartinRandall Speaking only for myself, I wasn't certain there wasn't some merge waiting in the wings and I hadn't been watching the Discord super diligently, so I left it at 15%.

predictedYES 2y

@MartinRandall Would this qualify as yes if it's merged before the deadline?

2y

@wasabipesto The second screenshot looks like it would qualify.

2y

@Gurkenglas I believe the "provided browser interface" in the description refers to the default manifold interface. Not sure why it would apply to a specially constructed tool. shrug

2y

@Gurkenglas That wouldn't count because there are multiple rows per user and there doesn't seem to have a grouping by user option.

2y

@MartinRandall click on Users, not Bet Table.

2y

@Gurkenglas That definitely would do it. But it's not "the provided browser interface" at this time, so you're in a race against time to get it merged.

2y

@Gurkenglas I will say that looking at the users table makes it very clear to me that this is a feature Manifold needs. It needs some UX polish, but it would help with many things. Bet-based polls. Quadratic betting polls. Seeing when one person is going against the rest of the bettors. Seeing who is profiting from liquidity and who got run over. Looking forward to something like this landing.

@MartinRandall That's why I kept betting no, personally. The functionality in Gurkenglas' pull request is spot on, but it doesn't match the look of the rest of the site. I suspect that's why Sinclair pinged Ian - because he's working on reworking that same PR but making it match the look of the site.

2y

The entire backend is nonfunctional for heavy users (>300MB cache just to see positions, >50% crash rate); will hope that gets refactored before this—ie fills versus live orders belong in completely different tables

2y

Probably should be lower than 64% at this point?

When this is done I expect at least one whale bait market about who has the largest position.

Not yet easy! Still looking at "a trader"...

What is this?

What is Manifold?
Manifold is the world's largest social prediction market.
Get accurate real-time odds on politics, tech, sports, and more.
Or create your own play-money betting market on any question you care about.
Are our predictions accurate?
Yes! Manifold is very well calibrated, with forecasts on average within 4 percentage points of the true probability. Our probabilities are created by users buying and selling shares of a market.
In the 2022 US midterm elections, we outperformed all other prediction market platforms and were in line with FiveThirtyEight’s performance. Many people who don't like betting still use Manifold to get reliable news.
ṀWhy use play money?
Mana (Ṁ) is the play-money currency used to bet on Manifold. It cannot be converted to cash. All users start with Ṁ1,000 for free.
Play money means it's much easier for anyone anywhere in the world to get started and try out forecasting without any risk. It also means there's more freedom to create and bet on any type of question.
