YES

Previous presidents (especially Obama and Trump) have used their last day or two in office to issue a slew of last-minute pardons. Will Biden issue any on these final two days of his presidency?

Commutations do not count. Any pardons issued by Biden on January 19th or January 20th (eastern time) resolve this YES. Pardons issued before that will not. Trump takes office at noon ET on the 20th. I give mods permission to resolve this immediately if a pardon occurs.

  • Update 2025-18-01 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Additional Resolution Criteria:

    • **If Vice President Harris becomes President and issues any pardons on January 19th or January 20th (Eastern Time), the market will be resolved as N/A.

If Harris becomes president and pardons anyone in the final two days, does that count?

@MingCat Classic Manifold Markets question. Good stuff. You need to always be alert and ready for nothing ever happening.

@MingCat If this happens I'm N/Aing the question out of spite for the universe for allowing something so silly

I have a feeling we are in for a busy weekend.

Gotta get good ole Jimmy Biden his pardon.

H.W. Bush, Clinton, Obama, and Trump all passed pardons in their last 48 hours. W. Bush didn't. I think this is pretty likely

@MingCat W. Bush issued two commutations, but no pardons
