Resolves yes if this bug is 1) recognized as valid by a member of the Manifold core team, and 2) fixed in a week. Resolves No if this is a bug and we don't fix it, and N/A if this isn't recognized as a valid bug. Filed from https://discord.com/channels/915138780216823849/943628693958459462/1040788653850509432
@ian I believe this was specifically a problem due to site overloading from the Destiny people. If nothing has been changed to address this issue for the next time the site gets overloaded, I think this should resolve NO.
@IsaacKing afacit @JamesGrugett attempted some fixes, e.g. see here: https://github.com/manifoldmarkets/manifold/commit/f6e5d5333ea2eee7e68500ab24f8e9ce3cf6177a
@ian Then I think this should remain open until after the next time the site gets overloaded. (Or the next few times, just to be sure.) If no one reports the same issue, it can resolve to YES. If the bug happens again, it can resolve to NO.
@RyanThomas The site not yet getting into the state that causes the bug is not the same as the bug being fixed.
"This one account is having placing bets; the bug doesn't apply to anyone else. Ok, just delete their account entirely and now that bug is fixed."
@ian Seems like a fair move, given the lack of clear criteria. That said, I’d love for it to instead resolve No since the bug existed, and definitely isn’t definitely fixed.
@ian I wouldn't be too upset if this were resolved N/A, I can understand why you'd want to do so. But I don't think that's the correct resolution; finding out for sure whether the bug is fixed is difficult, but there is a single YES/NO answer in principle.
@ian I'm still having this problem in the same situations as before, namely:
I open a lot of tabs to various Manifold markets in mobile Chrome
I start making bets in those markets
I'm able to make the first couple of bets successfully
Then I start getting "Error placing bet" if I try any more
If I close all my Manifold tabs and start over, opening no more than threeish tabs at once, then I can place bets fine

@tcheasdfjkl Out of curiosity, what happens if you open the javascript console, type "localStorage.clear()", press enter, and then reload the page?
@tcheasdfjkl Additional info: I have this problem specifically if I open a bunch of Manifold market tabs in mobile Chrome; I think I don't have it if I'm just in a single tab, or on desktop
