I am a young Venezuelan man facing financial hardship. Today I am asking for your help to buy some food for my family. We are in a difficult situation here; inflation and the lack of work are killing us. God bless you, and may you and your family have a long and healthy life. @Macbook personal experience lol. hindsight is 20/20 but if you end up EDing somewhere and not getting in, you will probably regret no EDing to UChicago
@prismatic Oh yeah, ig that's fair. If I don't ED to UChicago, I'd prob either ED to Harvey Mudd (which I think I'd have a slightly worse chance at), or just not ED at all (which could have a wide range of outcomes).
@Macbook yeah not really in a position to give advice since i didn't apply for chemistry, but (if it hasn't changed in the last 3 years) i've generally heard if you really want to go to uchicago apply ED because thats where a lot of the admit pool get filled. had a couple friends apply and only the two that EDed ended up getting in and the other 4 got rejected. Regardless, good luck and don't get too stressed out!
@Macbook actually there's a chance i ED and then I get back a decision in January, and decide to rescind my application
@prismatic oh sorry, I didn't ED2 UChicago at the beginning, but there's still 2 decisions I'm waiting for this month that may sway me, cuz i can still switch until Jan 31.
