Full-tour participants in the Grand Chess Tour play in both classical events as well as 2 of 3 rapid & blitz events. The resolution is based off an official announcement by the Grand Chess Tour in the beginning of the year, even if the player does not end up playing. The top 3 players from the 2024 tour, Alireza Firouzja, Fabiano Caruana, and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave automatically qualify, leaving 6 spots chosen based on rating in all 3 time controls and other factors.
