YES

Hitting $2000 by the end of the year will mean: the spot of gold will have a value of $2000 or higher at any point during said day (31st December 2023 EST time)

30th November 2023: The title was fixed to better characterize the goal of this market and better fit its description.

I find "hit" to be a very unintuitive word, given the clarification.

predicted YES

@GustavoLacerda Definitely an awkward market but a fun one nonetheless

predicted NO

Just to clarify, that gold has to trade above 2000 on the 31st (a Sunday) to resolve YES? Or will you use the 29th?

bought Ṁ1,000 of YES

@TrentonPotter The title and description are a bit contradictory - I'm happy to eat the loss if the description was the intended purpose, but I'd appreciate if @LucasMartins could update the title to reflect this (meaning ON, instead of BY)

bought Ṁ42 of NO

@Gen the market history shows the description was added 3 months ago, only 3 days after market creation, well before this was bet to 99%.

The clarification is completely unambiguous (as opposed to the usage of the word ‘by’ as seen in so many markets here). By now all experienced traders such as yourself should be used to throughly checking the description every time you see a title with the word ‘by.’ I’m sure you know of the many examples in which such a strict reading got people in trouble, even cases with buried clarifications in comments superseding any title ambiguity. Here, the description clearly stated the criteria soon after creation and well before your mistaken trades, so it’s clearly better than those cases in which the alternate interpretation stood despite worse and less visible clarifications.

@TrentonPotter I will correct the title to ON, to reflect the intended reading of the market and the description. The description I believe it to be perfectly unambiguous.

predicted YES

@Gen i take it back:

your mistaken trades

i meant best trades ever ;)
