There are some very enthusiastic Tarling fans here, so that's the question. It's all about the time.
If he wins or finishes within a maximum of 30 seconds after the Olympic ITT gold medalist's time, this question resolves as YES. In case of any doubt, the official timing will be used. Penalty times, etc., will be taken into account. Otherwise, it resolves as NO. It also resolves as NO if he doesn't start, does not finish (DNF), etc.

The market has been closed for the race. The mechanical was pretty weird, how much time did he loose? 5-10 seconds?

We don't include the Italian TopGanna fans and the Tobias Foss believers. He has never come that close when Ganna and Evenepoel were at their top level. It might be possible, but I have to see it to believe it. He lost 48 seconds to Remco and 36 seconds in Glasglow on a slightly longer course and thats my reference. Ganna must be in the shape of his life for the Olympics otherwise he is washed. There is a lot of pressure on him. It's Tarling's first Olympics, he'll be nervous, no pressure, etc.
The guy is 20, he was 19 last year. He did his first altitude camp in preparation for his race. Yeah, the pressure will be on, but in the end a TT is a "go BRRRR" discipline. The biggest risk would be a crash in the corner, he is a bit of a maniac when it comes to cornering. Especially as it is most likely going to be wet.
Also, 15km longer is a lot longer when it comes to TTs, that course also was slightly hillier. So definitely favouring Remco.
To be fair, I still think it's possible with a 50% probability. I just have to see it to believe it. Beforehand it's a lot of speculation.
Ganna is a terrible climber (compared to WT riders) and he lost only 12 seconds to Remco. And Tarling lost in the flat parts to Remco as well.
I'm not the biggest fan of first time alltitude camps. They often go wrong and aren't as magical as people assume.
The course isn't as terrible technical as announced.
