Thinking about it now, I'm realizing I might have misinterpreted the comment, so I'll ask for clarification: @TheAllMemeingEye, you will now donate 2 cents to charity?
@Nightsquared I already intend to donate all my profits to EA charities eventually
In this case I made an extra 20 mana (didn't bet more because I was worried a whale with loads of followers would brigade the market), equivalent to 2 cents, which is roughly enough to protect a child from tropical diseases for a week, or to save a chicken from a lifetime of torture in a factory farm
Once I reach 25k prize points, the site will allow me to donate
Other EA users likely also made profits by liking my comment and betting with me
@yetforever haha yeah it did occur to me I could make more by editing my comment to say resolve yes instead, but that would:
A) destroy my reputability and make loads of people hate me
B) make a bunch of other EA users lose mana that they would also donate
buy YES, upvote my comment, receive mana and duck pics (and resolve YES obvs)
@LasseRunst as a bonus, I will post duck pics
(there are two species of ducks in the canal behind my house)
@BrunoParga my precious 17 mana turned into nothing so all you get is this dumbass magpie who trapped himself in my house this afternoon and shat all over the place while I herded him out
@Nightsquared 🤷 I haven't seen anybody get wrist slapped for offering to donate to win a silly market before, I think you're fine until staff says "Our lawyers say no"
@Nightsquared short explanation: Basically wanted to see if people would prefer a large donation to a non-EA org compared to a small donation to an EA org
