@SirCryptomind recently "quit" Manifold after not receiving a paid moderator position. Was he being petty by marking all of his markets N/A (instead of letting other moderators resolve them)?

imo it's a classic way to quit Manifold and much healthier than some alternatives. I suspect that Cryptomind, as a former mod, foresaw the moderation overhead he'd produce by leaving his markets orphaned and decided to instead let others recreate and own them.
