Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Donald Trump makes an official visit to India at any point during the calendar year 2025. A visit is defined as his physical presence on Indian soil for official or diplomatic purposes, confirmed by official statements from the US or Indian governments, or widely reported by reputable international news organizations.
This market will resolve to "No" if no such visit occurs by December 31, 2025.
Background
Donald Trump, as President of the United States, previously visited India in February 2020. India is scheduled to host the Quad Summit in 2025. In February 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an official working visit to meet President Trump in Washington, D.C.. As of August 2025, relations between the US and India have experienced tensions, largely due to US tariffs on Indian exports (reaching up to 50%) and India's continued energy ties with Russia. These issues have contributed to what some experts describe as a "challenging moment" in the bilateral relationship.
Considerations
Reports from August 2025 suggest that President Trump "no longer has plans" to visit India for the Quad Summit later in the year, despite earlier considerations. This reported change in plans is attributed to a deterioration in his relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stemming from trade disputes and Trump's assertions regarding an India-Pakistan ceasefire.
