The best joke I have ever witnessed came from Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
The setup for the joke was innocuous, but when they deliver the payoff line, it hits you in the gut. I had to pause the movie for several minutes while I was doubled over in laughter.
And the best part is that it feels like a throw away line. The show just moves along, and the plot keeps moving forward like they didn't just deliver the best joke in the movie.
