Will I remain the undisputed Pirate Waiter World Champion for the remainder of the school year?

YES

The basic rules that of Pirate Waitering are that each person has one eye covered, and they are both trying to knock a frisbee out of the other's hand with a pool noodle.

I have currently won two "tournaments" the first where it was first point wins, and the second where I won after doing some sort of 5-round Round Robin sorta thing to decide the top 2, and then I won in the final (which was first to 11) 11-5.

Anyways, if anyone wants to challenge me for the title, I guess it'll be first to 11. Give me a week head's up, and I can probably bring all the "materials" to school ahead of time.

For the purposes of this market each person may only challenge me once (per year), I suppose.

I will only bet YES on this market.

should resolve NO immediately, right? since you’re not currently the undisputed champion (it’s in dispute)

predicted YES

@Conflux I presume boxing is analogous to Pirate Waiter dueling, and I currently have all the titles (1).

Also due to the mess which was the previous match (sorry, that’s like 95% on me), @YapaGlover and I are doing our third bout, and first official bout with all the proper rules on Monday, this time actually to 11. Also I’ll actually “”bring the title to school Monday (it’s a pink flamingo)!””

predicted NO

@JoshuaB yeah, that’s fair. I was mostly meming (although I do think my argument is defensible, and maybe someone else believes it!)

predicted YES

@JoshuaB Also I’d like to point out that on the Wikipedia article there’s a section of disputed undisputed champions which is so funny to me

Rrule 6 states “The frisbee may only touch one of your own hands throughout a bout.”

Multiple times throughout the match the frisbee touched other things besides one of our hands. @YapaGlover agreed that we should redo any points that the rules were broken in. I don’t have time to review the footage today, but I know there was at least 1 time for each of us where it touched part of our body that wasn’t our hands, so the bout is not over

@JoshuaB Also, uhh, at some point it was sorta just declared it was 7-5, I will want to “check the replay” to verify that it was indeed 7-5, and if not adjust the score appropriately

@JoshuaB Details -> Document details; Joshua Brower is the owner. Hmmmmm......

predicted YES

@YapaGlover @stq can confirm that this doc has existed since at least August 2022 and has not been edited

@JoshuaB Fair enough

Yapa wins 15-13, although Josh wants to review the footage to ensure this

@Conflux Just looked at the description again and it’s actually to 11…. So that’s always cool. Idk how that should interact with the whole redoing points thing.

predicted YES

I’ve acquired “eyepatches.” Watch out (with the eye not adapted to low light environments of course)!

predicted YES

i bet yes, but ill make it a no :)

predicted NO

@astyerche I'll give you 100 mana if you cause this market to resolve NO

@YapaGlover lost 15-9. Pretty close! Also “raised awareness”

predicted NO

@cc6 lost 15-1 (mostly frisbee holding issues)

@Conflux I would like to point out that this wasn't actually a fair tournament, since we had both of our eyes uncovered

predicted NO

@YapaGlover Oh wait that’s TRUE

@JoshuaB any response??

@Conflux Uhh massive oversight if true. All 3 of the challengers can have another shot if they so desire

predicted YES

@JoshuaB Though they’ll lose by more (except for @cc6, I think it’s reasonable she’ll do better). But Yapa?!? TROUNCING!!

@JoshuaB Debateable.... I think with one eye you would be completely unable to hold on to your "sword" (less than you did this time)

@JoshuaB @YapaGlover this almost sounds like one of those “testable prediction” things - shall I make the market?

predicted YES

@Conflux Testable predictions?! Pshaw! Go for it lol.

(also the only reason I lost my sword so many times was I forgot to, uh, grip the sword properly. Read I’d bet copious amounts in said market!)

@JoshuaB ... how did you forget? How were you holding it wrong??? so many questions

predicted NO

@YapaGlover Uh... not tightly enough
