On Oct 24, 2026, President Trump posted on Truth Social that he "may move the Fake News to a less obnoxious location," after reports he wanted to restore the 1933 swimming pool beneath the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room. He confirmed again on Oct 25 that he is considering moving the press. In 2017 he floated a similar move and backed off.

RESOLVES YES if, by Dec 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, EITHER:

1. RELOCATION: The press corps' daily briefings OR its West Wing workspace (the booths and desks behind the briefing room) are moved out of the current West Wing press area for at least 14 consecutive days. This counts even if the move is called "temporary" or "for renovations." Moves to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building or elsewhere on the complex count.

OR

2. FORMAL DECISION: The President, Press Secretary, or an official White House statement announces a definite decision to relocate the press corps, naming a new location OR a date. Phrasing like "may," "considering," or "thinking about" does NOT count.

RESOLVES NO otherwise.

Does NOT count:

- One-off press conferences held elsewhere (East Room, Rose Garden, travel)

- Removing or banning individual outlets or reporters, or reassigning seats

- Renovations during which briefings and workspace stay in place

- Anonymous-source reports of a decision without official confirmation

Sources: official White House statements and Trump's Truth Social posts, plus AP, Reuters, or the White House Correspondents' Association. If unclear at close, I'll wait up to 14 days for clarification. I won't trade in this market.
