@JasonMurphy My read is the poll results are generally reflective of Manifold's active user base, but there is certainly plenty of wiggle room. Some obvious ones:
Selection bias: people with lower income may be more willing to vote in the poll. "I'm a student and I make almost nothing" is a totally normal answer.
Network/reach: I don't believe the poll was boosted onto the front page, so perhaps users with lower income were more likely to find it. Or maybe low income users were more likely to share it with other low income users.
The composition of the active user base of Manifold has shifted over time. You should plan to re-run the same experiment next year and see what the result is!
