Could somebody please explain the reason behind publicly announcing their engagement in this case? In my eyes, this should be an even lower probability than the main question. Why would they publicly get engaged if they're already the center of attention? Wouldn't it be much better to wait until there is a little bit less attention and then bring it up as an extra event? Maybe even while publishing a new album, merch, etc.? It's probably possible to monetize their engagement much better if it's not a side story of the Super Bowl.
