Tom Scott says he would place a bet that the Extremely Large Telescope will be the largest optical telescope ever built, since optical interferometry will render them un-economical to build once it's possible to do so.
if a larger telescope is built, this market resolves to NO. Otherwise it resolves to YES at the beginning of 2200.
If the ELT is cancelled or modified, this market will resolve based on its currently planned aperture diameter of 39.3 meters.
