When re-enabled, will Fable require verification via government ID?

Presumably enabling Fable only for US citizens means implementing ID verification in order to prove that the user is a US citizen (KYC). Will this happen? Or will Fable either re-enable for all customers simultaneously (even those outside the US), or re-enable only for US customers via geoblocking or some non-ID method?

  • Update 2026-06-26 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): If Fable requires government ID verification but does not restrict to US citizens only, the market still resolves YES.

At 90% chance of both Americans and Europeans getting access at once, I think the chance of fable needing government ID verification in this scenario is less than ~50%, so I bet NO

If Fable requires some government id, but does not require US citizenship, it sounds like this resolves no? Is that right?

@2b3o4o In that case it would resolve YES; I just didn't see it as a likely enough scenario to carve out an exception for it in the description.

@Interrobang Thanks! For what it's worth I think this is at least mildly plausible - ex. if the re-release requires citizenship in the US or an allied country.

Creative name! Honorable mention among the best names. (I see Web3ICP as functional first.)
