Will Apple’s M3 chips prove to be significantly less reliable than M1/M2 chips by 2025-01-01?

I'm no hardware expert, but my gut is slightly concerned that M3 chips may have too little margin for physical wear and tear, and will not meet lifespan and reliability expectations.

I expect the following criteria to be necessary and sufficient for a yes resolution:

  • a Hacker News post, with over 200 votes, about reliability issues with M3 chips that recommends sticking with M1/M2.

  • hard data (doesn't have to be a lot) of major hardware problems (e.g. bit flips, sudden forced restarts, cores needing to be disabled) happening over twice as often as M1 or M2 chips.

I sold my shares and will not bet anymore in this market.
