The vehicle hit a curb and went airborne over a barrier and exploded, they said. Within a few hours, however, officials began lifting the restrictions, reassured that investigators had a clearer sense that while the vehicle careened out of control — flying over an eight-foot fence — there was no indication yet to suggest terrorism as a possible motive for the driver, believed to be a local man who may have been at a casino earlier.

Yep, seems like it was just extremely reckless driving than deliberate terrorism

Investigators have determined that the incident was not terror-related and they found no explosive devices, according to a law enforcement official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss an open investigation. The driver was believed to be a casino player who frequently crossed the U.S.-Canadian border and had no criminal history, the official said. He and his passenger were thought to be Americans.

“Based on what we know at this moment, and again anything can change, there is no sign of terrorist activity with respects to this crash,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said at a news conference.

If this incident was an act of terrorism, they must be really bad terrorists then.

I've been thinking that since I saw the article, why would there be a terrorist strike on a bridge? it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Fringe twitter accounts are suggesting a "second bomb" got through the border, but I think that is just twitter users larping as FBI.

@dittopoop A car exploded after being stopped at the border, they are doing bomb checks on all incoming cars, they closed government offices in the area, I doubt there were no explosives on board...

But no, no explosives and it appears to be simply an accident, very strange.
