Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to "Yes" if Tom Aspinall successfully defends the UFC Heavyweight Championship in his first title defense. A successful defense is defined as Aspinall retaining his title by any means—knockout, technical knockout, submission, decision, or disqualification—against an official challenger in a UFC-sanctioned event. The outcome will be verified through official UFC fight results published on the UFC's official website.
Resolves NO if Aspinal loses, it's a draw, or a no contest
Background
Tom Aspinall was promoted to the undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion on June 21, 2025, following Jon Jones' retirement from mixed martial arts. Prior to this, Aspinall held the interim heavyweight title, which he won by defeating Sergei Pavlovich via first-round knockout at UFC 295 on November 11, 2023. He successfully defended the interim title against Curtis Blaydes with another first-round knockout at UFC 304 on July 27, 2024. Aspinall's rapid ascent in the heavyweight division has been marked by his exceptional finishing ability, with most of his UFC victories ending in the first round. (en.wikipedia.org)
Considerations
As of June 22, 2025, the UFC has not officially announced the date or opponent for Aspinall's first title defense as the undisputed heavyweight champion. Potential challengers include top-ranked heavyweights such as Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov, both of whom have been active in the division. The timing and selection of the opponent may influence Aspinall's preparation and performance in his inaugural title defense.
