I still do, but not nearly as often as I did a few years ago. It's a real shame.

no, but I often use two hyphens to signify one--like this!--but I've turned off all the fancy typography autoreplacement stuff (because I hate nice things, I guess). (I think on macOS it might turn two hyphens into an en dash instead??)
