Resolution criteria
Putin is mentioned in the released Epstein files, but the question of whether he was "involved" requires clarification. This market resolves YES if the released Epstein files contain evidence that Putin directly participated in, facilitated, or had knowledge of Epstein's sex trafficking operations. This resolves NO if the files show only incidental mentions, speculation, or indirect connections without substantive evidence of involvement.
Resolution will be based on the Epstein files released by the Department of Justice. Files are expected to be made public on or around December 19, 2025, following Attorney General Pam Bondi's instruction to publicly release unclassified records within 30 days. The resolution will rely on official government documents and credible news reporting.
Background
Mark Epstein suggested his brother ask if Russian President Vladimir Putin had compromising pictures of Trump and Clinton together in a 2018 email exchange. Epstein boasted that he had already counseled a top Russian diplomat on Trump's psyche. Evidence has come to light of Russian involvement in the finances and personnel of Epstein, though the nature and extent of this involvement remains unclear pending full file release.
Considerations
The decision will be made based upon news channel reports. From the date the Epstein files are released, I will wait up to 6 months to see if Putins name appears, but this could resolve “YES” a lot sooner depending on the speed of disclosure.
