What happens if subscriptions are offered but the free tier remains?

To take use of AI chatbot technology, OpenAI unveiled subscription plans for ChatGPT Plus, powered by ChatGPT-4, in February. A number of notable improvements are included with these plans, including quicker response times, a larger word limit, access to the most recent information even during periods of high demand, and more. It's crucial to remember that everyone can still utilize ChatGPT-3.5, the free version.

For budgetary considerations, OpenAI might offer the free version as a short-term trial for a few months, but from my perspective,  it's also important to think of it as a way to prioritize user acquisition. OpenAI can effectively raise awareness and draw in new users by continuing to provide a free chatbot. This demonstrates their dedication to making AI technology accessible to a wider audience. 

Just curious when I'll have to start paying for ChatGPT to reword my projects at work... Resolves YES if subscriptions are a thing from now until December 31st, 2024 or NO if they do not monetize it.
