Shadow banning after some users blocked me

This market seeks to find the most convincing explanation for the significant decrease in new bettors on my prediction markets. Previously, there were at least 10 new bettors joining my markets daily, but now there are almost none. Participants can submit their explanations and bet on them. As the market creator, I will choose one or more answers based on their convincing nature.

I'll recommend adding your markets to groups. Not sure how the recommendation algo works but there are filters on the home page for types of markets. Like AI, crypto, etc. So I'd guess some sort of tags are used, and i don't see your markets usually added into groups, which can be the reason for low visibility

Still with almost no new bettors. @ManifoldMarkets can someone please check if I am at some shadow banning list?

@FranklinBaldo we don't have any shadow banning of any sort implemented rn so it's impossible to be that lol.

We have made a lot of changes to how the feed works, so maybe it's something to do with that. I'll raise it with James who is responsible for the algorithm of the feed and see what he thinks.

@DavidChee honestly the most probable answer, which makes me sad to say, is that we just don't have that many users yet. So questions which are interesting, but niche, just aren't appealing to the majority of users who don't know anything about them.

But please do keep making them! Because we need them to exist on our site so when new users who are interested in that niche come along there are markets there for them.

@DavidChee the actual reason is that I own massive numbers of accounts and they were banned. But the manifold moderators are retards and will have a different understanding

@DavidChee thank you for your feedback.

@MarkIngraham

Maybe something related with the banning of @MarkIngraham , how can they still bet on my markets?

@FranklinBaldo <does not say> betting.

@FranklinBaldo i doubt that's it either when we have literal market making bots, bots like @GPT-4 and such

@firstuserhere yeah. Make sense

@FranklinBaldo i reply to the wrong answer here. I meant to reply to "Shadow banning after some users blocked me"

@FranklinBaldo why should this be a problem? They provide api as a way to place bets

@firstuserhere Manifold may use ML algorithms to block bots & spammers, but false positives could accidentally suppress genuine users! 😕

@FranklinBaldo could be a thing. I remember trading in some of your markets but yeah haven't seen any recently, so was interested when i saw this market

@FranklinBaldo The decline in new bettors might be attributed to seasonality, with certain times of the year experiencing lower engagement levels. Factors like holidays, major events, or academic schedules can influence user activity on prediction markets.

@FranklinBaldo Recent user interface (UI) changes on the prediction platform might have inadvertently made all new markets, including yours, less visible to potential bettors. This could be due to redesigns or layout adjustments that prioritize other content or make it more challenging for users to discover new markets. As a result, fewer new bettors may be joining your markets.
