I'm experimenting with giving better rates to reliable users. I haven't worked out a good way to do this yet, but if you think you deserve better rates than 6%, feel free to ask, briefly presenting your evidence that you're reliable. Evidence could include:
You've taken a number of loans with me before, and always paid back on time
You've been using Manifold for a significant amount of time, and have built a presence here (which might indicate you have a reputation to preserve)
You've taken a number of loans with other people before, and always paid back on time.
You have a good profit record.
Users who I currently see as reliable, and to whom I will offer 5% by default:
I will try to respond to your request within 36 hours (note longer timescale than usual because I'm on holiday - if I don't respond to you in this timescale please do chase me, I might have missed the notification), but my response might be a no. In general I'm less likely to offer you a loan if:
you're a new user
you've already got a loan out with me
In some cases I might offer you a smaller loan than the one you ask for. The more history you have of paying back loans on time (to me or others) the more likely I am to give you a larger loan. If you have a good track record but you think I may not be aware of it, feel free to state your case.
I will pay you your loan by giving you a bounty on the comment where you request the loan. Please pay me back by managram. (I experimented with having you pay back by paying into the bounty, but it's easier for me to keep track of managrams.)
Please don't take out a loan unless you're sure you can pay back on time.

Furthermore, I would like to request for the interest rate to be 5% instead of the default 6%. Since you request evidence of reliability, I'll say that I have a decent profit record and my manifold account is almost 18 months old, during which time I have not gained an untrustworthy reputation. If you believe this is not enough evidence I'll accept the default rate.
