Will this bug be fixed by end of the year?

How to repro, 100% chance

  • Open Firefox on android

  • Login to OpenAI

  • New chat

  • Click input bar

  • Type and watch the characters get eaten

Some of the characters will not come through. Usually the first character survives but the second and third are often lost. Once that is past, you can continue typing without a problem.

Deleting all text and starting again does cause it to happen again.

So it's likely an inefficient loop watching the input?

I wonder how many people hit this. I could make a video about it and see if we can reach the devs there. It does seem trite... But it is annoying and hits me every single damn time on mobile

I thought it was something wrong with my browser

@firstuserhere pretty crazy they don't fix this. I guess they are all super ai people or trying to be. Maybe not many js frontend engineers?

@firstuserhere had it on both firefox and chrome, but seems better on Firefox now. Haven't bothered with chrome in a while

Do you all get this too? It's 100% of the time for me on a pixel 7

@Ernie I've not used it much on (Android) phone and haven't had this bug anyway there, but on my m2 MacBook pro I got so often last 3 weeks, and it's now got better for me.
