"Democratic" means anyone caucusing with the Democrats, and thus includes Bernie Sanders and Angus King. "By 7/7" means by 11:59pm PT on 7/6. By "step aside", I mean "not seek the presidential nomination of the Democratic party".

If Biden steps aside by 7/7, then this question will resolve to the number of people who will have called for Biden to step aside by the time that he steps aside.

I'm not sure how to make "call on Biden to resign" unambiguous, but:

  • It should be unconditional. A statement like "If Biden is unable to do X, he should step aside" doesn't count.

  • I can answer questions in the comments (though don't promise to do so quickly.)

  • Ultimately I'll be making the judgment call.

I believe that this resolves to 1-10. That's how I'll resolve it unless I hear objections by the end of today PT.

I assume this only refers to public statements and not private conversations, right? Otherwise, there would be many more, e.g., https://www.axios.com/2024/07/07/top-house-democrats-say-biden-should-drop-out

Yeah, my interpretation would be public statements. Also note that this reporting is from today, whereas the deadline for this question was yesterday.

I think the current count so far is two: Dean Phillips and Lloyd Doggett.

This piece adds three more, but doesn't include Dean Phillips: https://www.axios.com/2024/07/06/list-house-democrats-biden-withdraw-2024-campaign

Huh, I’m surprised Rashida Tlaib or AOC don’t seem to have made a statement. Tlaib previously told voters to vote “uncommitted” in the primary.
