I have just started meditating today after not doing so for years. Previous attempts at meditation were never regular, however, I am now on ADHD meds and hoping history does not repeat itself.
Why Yes:
- Optimism
- Comfortably did a 20 minute session today (not included in the market, which starts counting tomorrow)
- I have a morning routine that I manage to stick to 5 or 6 days per week (on average). Sometimes all 7.
Why No:
- Brutal Reality
- I do not have a good personal track record for daily habits.
- I did not stick to my morning routine for the last 3 days.
A successful 20 minute meditation session counts as either:
- A completed 20 minute session before midnight. No pausing the timer. No splitting the session up. Session is judged by me to be a genuine attempt.
- OR 20 minutes (total) in two back-to-back sessions before midnight. This can only occur from an EXTERNAL interruption which requires me to pause the timer, not because I get distracted. Max of one interruption per session. Must resume within 10 minutes of the interruption. Session is judged by me to be a genuine attempt.
Resolves YES if I complete a successful 20 minute meditation session each day for the next 7 days, starting tomorrow.
Resolves NO if even a single day goes by where I do not complete a successful 20 minute meditation session.

@Destiato Not from this week.
However, years ago when my brain was A LOT more chaotic I meditated semi-frequently for a few weeks to a few months (can't recall exactly).
And during that time I noticed a LARGE difference in the amount of chaos my head had.
Not perfect, and my brain was still chaos based, but it was less intense.
I don't know whether changes would happen for someone with a different mind, or how long they would take, but there'd likely be Some change Eventually.
Day 4: Did it!
Feeling good about the next 3 days, despite going to bed past 5am last night. We'll see how it goes.
3 more to go!
@EmilyThomas You can do it!
(If it helps, a recurring alarm or reminder might be good for keeping you on track.)
