Alpecin debuted this denim kit this year. Will they wear it in the 2024 Tour de France?

It only needs to be seen in one stage to resolve Yes. If they go multiple stages without using it and it appears it will not be worn, this can resolve No before the TDF is over. But if they wear a special jersey for Stage 1 and then go back to this on Stage 2, it would resolve Yes.

The 'denim' pattern needs to be on EITHER the jersey or the shorts, so if they wore black shorts but the denim top, it's still a Yes. If the denim pattern is only seen on gloves, rain kit, etc., that would not count.

If the jersey has minor changes but still looks like denim, resolves Yes.

They announced a dark denim jersey for the TDF. Leaning in hard. Resolves after they actually use it.

it is going to be a mess to distinguish between Alpecin, Soudal and Visma with all those blue jerseys

@Eliza this can resolve now

I think this design looks awful on TV and they should ditch it before the TDF. Either completely moving away from it, or wearing something else for just the TDF.

I understand it is supposed to be a throwback kind of thing, but....it's not working for me.

@Eliza I don't think they are eligible to change it for the season. The only option would be the one special jersey for one Grand Tour per year rule. There is a chance that they will use it for the Tour. I can't remember where they used it last year. Two years ago it was definitely the Giro with MvdP.

I think most pro cycling jerseys are pretty ugly, so I don't care too much. 50% - 75% seems about right to me without any research.

@Lion I agree that the rules stipulate they probably cannot change the jersey for the whole season, but like many rules, I think there is considerable leeway to bend them, so I am not really too concerned about whether they are "allowed". I think it's probably over 75% in reality. Some past seasons they used the alternate kit race on the Giro. At least one team often uses their one special kit event for a one day race.

@Eliza I don't think there isn't any reason to bend the rule here expect Eliza hates the jersey 😂 However, they did it in 2021 with the "Merci Poupou" jersey, but in a different way.

I amn't sure about the probability at all, I amn't that much into jerseys. Maybe it's over 75%, I don't know.
