Resolution criteria
This market will resolve to YES if, on January 1, 2050, the website deviantart.com is active, publicly accessible, and continues to operate as an online social network, community, or platform dedicated to sharing and displaying artwork.
Otherwise, this market will resolve to NO.
Additional Clarifications:
Redirects and Rebranding: If deviantart.com redirects to another domain that still hosts the same core community and art-sharing service (even under a rebranded name), it will resolve to YES. If the domain is parked, displays generic advertising, redirects to Wix's homepage without hosting the art community, or is completely defunct, it will resolve to NO.
Temporary Outages: If the website is down on January 1, 2050, due to a technical outage but returns online as a functional art platform within 30 days (by January 31, 2050), it will resolve to YES.
Verification: Resolution will be verified using live URL checks, web archive snapshots (such as the Wayback Machine), or official press releases from the platform's parent company or successors.
Background
DeviantArt was launched in August 2000 as a pioneering online community and social network for artists to exhibit, promote, and share creative works. In February 2017, the company was acquired by the web development platform Wix.com in a $36 million deal. Despite experiencing user pushback over site redesigns and policies surrounding generative AI, the platform reached a milestone of 110 million registered users under CEO Moti Levy. This market predicts whether the platform will survive the evolving digital landscape to remain active in 2050.
