Resolves to yes if I have significant unusual digestive issues (severe pain) or am convinced there is a blockage from the gum from any specific symptoms.

Resolves to no if there are no suspicious symptoms for 3-4 days, or if I am not convinced after 5 days.

The gum is 1.6 grams, but contains very little sweetener (that would otherwise dissolve over time and make the gum smaller). Instead, it is almost all plastic gum base, so the gum feels 2-5x bulkier than normal.

Have you only done it once or is it routine?

Do you tend to be neurotic about these things?
I think it's very unlikely that chewing gum will cause digestive problems. But there's definitely a possibility of a placebo effect.

@jessald Not much, it just felt bulky, felt like a large lump, and I heard it is bad to swallow gum.

I think this is unlikely unless you are already sensitive to sugar alcohol sweeteners (which are laxatives in large amounts), in which case the swallowing wouldn’t make a difference.
