Amazon Prime has cancelled the original TV series adaptation of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time, according to industry insider sources like Deadline. This decision was made for financial reasons like the show’s high budget and slightly declining viewership numbers, despite widespread critical acclaim.

However, WoT has amassed a passionate fan base, some of whom refuse to accept reality are trying to save the show. They have created an online campaign called Save WOT. They have collected almost 75,000 fan signatures so far (including mine), as well as many testimonials, love letters to Wheel of Time, video essays, and so on. Their objective is to get another streaming platform to pick up the show with Sony, or convince Amazon not to go through with the cancellation (which has not as of May 30th been officially announced by Amazon itself).

If any streaming platform (e.g. Netflix, AppleTV, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) announces that they are producing Season 4 of The Wheel of Time show with substantially the same cast and director/writers, then the question resolves yes. Otherwise it resolves no.

Fine print:

• If the show picks up where Amazon's Wheel of Time left off but does not include one major cast/character member like Rosamund Pike as Moiraine, Josha Stradowski as Rand, Natasha O'Keeffe as Lanfear, etc. then it will still resolve yes. If the overall cast is substantially different, it will resolve no.

• The same applies for the showrunner and major writers like Rafe Judkins.

• If there is substantial news indicating a possibility of SaveWOT succeeding, I will extend the resolution date as necessary, but due to cast retention and hype generation reasons I don't expect this to be necessary (even assuming this market resolves yes).

• If the show has a season 4 and somehow it can be conclusively shown that it wasn't in any way due to the efforts of SaveWOT, this market still resolves yes.
