This market resolves YES if, before January 20, 2029, if all of the following occur:

  1. Donald Trump makes a public statement or announcement confirming that he has converted to Judaism.

  2. The conversion is formally recognized by a Jewish religious authority or organization, such as a recognized rabbinical court (Beth Din) or a major Jewish religious organization or synagogue.

  3. The conversion and its recognition are reported by at least one major, credible news outlet.

The market resolves to NO if these conditions are not met by January 20, 2029.

Additional Info:

Trump was raised in the Presbyterian faith and publicly identified with it for most of his adult life, but in October 2020 declared that he no longer identified as Presbyterian and now considered himself a nondenominational Christian. His daughter Ivanka Trump converted to Judaism in July 2009 prior to her marriage to Jared Kushner in a Jewish ceremony. When Kushner told Trump that Ivanka was converting and they planned to marry, Trump said "Most people think I'm Jewish anyway." More recently, during a White House press conference, in which Mark Leaven stated "Six years ago I said this is our first Jewish president,” and to which Trump responded with “It’s true.”

Additionally, Trump has historically held close political ties with the Jewish-American community through family relationships, business associations, and political alliances. As president, he has emphasized strong support for Israel (even at much dismay from his political base), including recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the Abraham Accords, which he frequently cited as evidence of his administration’s relationship with Jewish and pro-Israel constituencies.

  • Expressions of intent to convert, participation in Jewish religious or cultural practices, or self-connection with Judaism without a completed and recognized conversion do not qualify.

  • Recognition must explicitly confirm that a conversion ceremony or process was completed.

  • A public statement includes statements made in interviews, press conferences, official speeches, or posts on Donald Trump’s or the White Houses' verified social media accounts.
