 Doesn't have to be sex. Can't just be a friendly side-hug. I'm not sure I can enumerate necessary and sufficient conditions, but I can answer questions about specific cases.

My friend, Rick Korzekwa, is embarking on the Pacific Crest Trail on May 11. Once he comes back, I will ask him if he had a romantic encounter with someone while on the trail. Will he say yes?
