This question resolves yes if it is common to see men wearing legging as normal everyday wear. Or if their are ads for leggings for men in fashion magazines.

I did not see leggings for women coming until suddenly girls are wearing tights and lulu's all the time. Their must be a reason they choose to wear them. Will we (men) discover that reason and start wearing them too?

Worst possible outcome: YES, but no one notices because there's this nonsense: https://twitter.com/0xgaut/status/1733253281219047563

@Duncn

The shoes are horrific. But one of those guys seems to be wearing tights.

Not enough to resolve yet. But getting closer.

It's pretty common to see male joggers wearing leggings, but sometimes with a pair of shorts over them and sometimes not. Do shorts+leggings outfits count?

@Duncan Shorts plus leggings don't count.

Sport wear doesn't count.

Leggings or tights as everyday wear.

predictedYES

@DanSparkman "Sport wear doesn't count." Yoga pants (Lulus) was one of the examples you used of this sort of garment becoming popular with women -- doesn't that suggest that sportswear should count?

predictedYES

@Duncan The criteria I expected was something like "people would be willing to wear this in the grocery store", which I would expect to include more athletic wear.

predictedNO

@Duncan As I read the intent here, sportswear only counts if it's not being used for sport purposes. If you see a women wearing yoga pants at the grocery story, while it's technically sportswear you don't assume she's on the way home from the yoga studio.

@Duncan

Men wear this at the grocery store. Is a fine criteria. That's what I am going for.

Michael above is correct.

I currently have friends who wear some kind of technical tights for sports. That doesn't meet my criteria. There has always been specialized clothing for specific activities.

predictedNO

@DanSparkman Huh. Mostly I see women wearing leggings with shorts or a skirt. Not always, sure.

It would be good to get some clarity on resolution criteria though. You can see stuff in fashion magazines or shows that no normal person would wear. I'd lean towards something more like "male characters on TV shows set in the present commonly wear tights as a normal thing", or "commercials on normal daytime TV show this fashion" as a proxy for what's become normal for (to put it bluntly) regular people.

@MattP

Well the resolution for this question is is the same as for all questions. How do I (who made the question) want to resolve it.

That being said your suggestions do speak to the intent of the question. It won't resolve yes if only weird Avant guard or fashion forward ads feature tights.

The intent is everyday men wear tights in everyday situations.

As fun as it might be if fashion from high tech societies in Star Trek: The Original Series were to catch on, I don't see it happening by 2030.

I mean, we don't even have warp drive yet.

It's getting pretty normal already in my experience

No due to global heating.
