NOTE: MAY RESOLVE TO PROBABILITIES (e.g. “he/they” is resolved as 50% he/him, 50% they/them). I will resolve subjectively based on how I would honestly answer the question “What pronouns do you prefer people refer to you with?”

I will not bet. Here is some context:

  • I’m biologically male.

  • I’ve never really had a strong internal sense of gender, or endorsed the fact that society is so obsessed with it.

  • I’ve always used he/him, mostly because it’s convenient and less grammatically ambiguous than they/them.

  • If there was a nonbinary pronoun with widespread societal acceptance, I think I would want to use it (perhaps in addition to he/him).

  • I’ve historically dressed in a low-effort masc way, but I really resonate with certain aspects of the femme aesthetic — in particular dresses and Safiya Nygaard x Holo Taco nail polish — especially lately. I am looking into a personal aesthetic overhaul in the coming months, which would probably include an androgynous mix of clothing.

  • In the last year (~my freshman year of college), I’ve gone from 98% straight to 90% straight. I feel like the people want to see me date men.

  • I have always been in very queer-friendly communities.

  • Quote from a friend: “see i dont think theyve invented your pronouns yet”

General policy for my markets: In the rare event of a conflict between my resolution criteria and the agreed-upon common-sense spirit of the market, I may resolve it according to the market's spirit or N/A, probably after discussion.

Egg posting

@Danielc583c Egg theorists would have to explain why I didn’t transition in the last seven years, despite knowing multiple trans people

I'm confused why it matters what "the people want to see"?

@jcb It shouldn’t really, but in practice it probably has a small accumulated impact on my preferences

bought Ṁ50 NO

What is the significance of that date?

@realDonaldTrump Too many markets resolve at end of year / end of month, so that’s why I picked it. Feb 12 is my birthday, but I don’t think that’s super relevant

@realDonaldTrump feb=2

2+12=14

12/14=6/7

I wish everyone just used the same pronouns and then we had different sets of pronouns that serve the function of they/them for hypothetical people and groups of people respectively

@MaxE Many (if not the majority of) languages use gender-neutral pronouns. But at the same time, in those languages you don't have the need for special pronouns to be used in general statements.

Yet another Gen-Zer not realizing that emphasizing the importance of pronouns only strengthens the traditional patriarchy with strictly determined gender roles.

@MaxA Elaborate on that view? I haven’t really heard it

@Conflux When describing yourself, you described a person whose sex is male but who doesn't strictly abides by the traditional gender norms. In the 20th century liberal movement, everyone would just say "good for you, behave how you want to behave, you're a free person" - and you would've never thought that you needed new pronouns. The 21st century trans extremism (I'm making a distinction here with trans activism in general that does do a lot of good) says "if you paint your nails that can only be because you're not a boy". With that, trans extremists revive the most conservative definitions of gender the 20th century liberals tried - and almost succeeded - to free us from.

A good op-ed here https://www.queermajority.com/essays-all/how-to-fix-what-ails-trans-activism (see "Saying no thanks to old-fashioned gender norms")

@MaxA Yeah, I think I’m sympathetic to that perspective. I’m comfortable with different forms of gender expression and don’t really think I need new pronouns, but I’m curious what the market thinks
