Me and my wife have three children, the youngest of which is 18 months old. We are extremely on the fence about whether or not we are wanting to have another child. I personally am leaning more towards not having another child but my wife might be leaning more towards having another. We have agreed that if we do have a fourth kid that it would definitely be our last. I have told her that if we are having another kid that I would want it to be in the next 2-3 years but definitely before our youngest is 5 years old. If I haven't gotten a vasectomy by 2028 I will be very surprised.

Will resolve YES if my wife becomes pregnant with our 4th child.

Will resolve NO if I get a vasectomy before my wife becomes pregnant.

Caveat: If we find out we are having another kid after I get a vasectomy, then the question will resolve YES. This has happened with families before because it takes roughly a month or so for a vasectomy to set in. Also, pregnancies often take a month or so after conception before they are noticed. Considering these factors, I will wait until 3 months after I have gotten a vasectomy to resolve this question.

Question closes at the end of 2028 as a conservative estimate as to when this question will resolve.

My wife is currently using the best birth control on the market and there is a 99% likelihood that she will not get pregnant while she is using this birth control. Accidental pregnancies do still happen while on birth control.
