Typst is marketing itself as an alternative to latex, for typesetting technical content, including scientific papers.

Resolves Yes if, before Oct 1 2025, document created by Typst are able to be submitted as-is to at least 2 journals of any two of the following publishing groups: Nature, Science, Cell, Elsevier or ACS. (So that's minimum 4 journals accepting it, from two distinct publishing groups.)

Might resolve No early if the startup is confirmed to fail without any other entity retaining the typesetting technology.

Export to Latex is currently not natively supported, and would also not suffice to resolve this market. Nor would submission as PDF. The submission must be in the Typst typesetting language (or binary file format if they chose to move to such).

In case of ambiguity, I reserve the right to 1/ temporarily stop trading by closing the market 2/ discuss resolution criteria in the comments 3/ resolve N/A if issues persist. I welcome comments and suggestion regarding resolution criteria if made well in advance of the resolving event.
