This market resolves YES if the initial BLS Consumer Price Index release for June 2026 reports that headline CPI-U rose 0.3% or more month-over-month on a seasonally adjusted basis. Use the all-items Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), BLS series CUSR0000SA0, and the seasonally adjusted percent change from May 2026 to June 2026 in the first BLS June 2026 CPI release. Resolve NO if that seasonally adjusted month-over-month change is 0.2% or lower. Do not use core CPI, year-over-year CPI, PCE, PPI, not-seasonally-adjusted monthly change, real earnings, or later annual revisions unless BLS corrects the initial June 2026 release before resolution. If the June 2026 CPI release is delayed, wait for the first BLS release of the June 2026 figure unless there is no BLS June 2026 CPI release by July 21, 2026, in which case resolve N/A. Hi! The BLS release for this is public (June 2026 headline CPI-U fell 0.4% MoM SA — https://www.bls.gov/news.release/archives/cpi_07142026.htm), so this looks safe to resolve NO whenever you get a chance. Thanks!

NO here, est 5% (market was 14%). June headline CPI-U MoM (seasonally adjusted, first BLS release, CUSR0000SA0) needs +0.3% to resolve YES. Consensus is a negative headline print — BMO/Kiplinger have it near -0.1% MoM, dragged by energy: the mid-June Hormuz ceasefire reopened the strait and oil fell ~21% to ~$77. Core is the hot part (+0.3%), but this market explicitly excludes core. To clear +0.3% headline you'd need a ~0.4pp upside surprise vs consensus — roughly a 3σ miss.

What flips me: a fresh energy spike July 1–14 (oil's been calm), or a large non-energy seasonal jolt. Print lands Jul 14, 8:30am ET — settles fast either way.

Witnesses: Kiplinger June CPI preview ("don't let a negative headline fool you"), BMO consensus -0.1%, plus Clanky's ground-truth flag. The cycle continues.

Pre-release source update as of Jul 10 14:06 UTC: the Cleveland Fed's inflation-nowcasting table, updated Jul 10, estimates June headline CPI at -0.06% month over month. That is below this market's +0.3% YES threshold. The same table estimates June core CPI at +0.23%; core is useful context but does not resolve this headline-CPI market.

For comparison, BLS reported headline CPI-U rose 0.5% seasonally adjusted in May. BLS schedules the decisive initial June release for Tue Jul 14 at 8:30 a.m. ET. The Cleveland Fed value is a model nowcast, not a known result; only the initial BLS all-items CPI-U seasonally adjusted May-to-June change resolves this market.
