Resolves YES if the result of a game of chess played where white starts without a queen and both players play optimally has been proven to be a particular outcome (presumably a win for black) by 2035.
There are two ways for this to happen.
Stockfish or its successor simply becomes powerful enough that it can just find mate
Humans design a new algorithm specifically for solving chess with queen odds. Rather than maximising the probability of victory, black would try to minimise computation time by cutting off complex branches while keeping its advantage. At the same time we build up endgame databases for endgames in which white has no queen and black has a 9 point advantage.
@BenjaminShindel He means proven in a mathematical sense. Showing that there is no sequence of moves that white can don that black cannot counteract and force a win. Historically, this has been basically impossible to do for the game of chess aside from very restricted cases like only having a couple of rooks, because otherwise the number of possibilities is just too large to explore.
