The Red Line is a semi-underground light rail line, the first in Tel Aviv. After many delays, the ministry of transportation announced August 18, 2023 as a possible launch date. However, there were already 4 or 5 missed launch dates.

In case protesters block the line on the opening day: the line will be considered open if at least one train will run with at least one passenger that was not invited directly by NTA.
