This should really be close to /BTE/will-trump-be-charged-by-the-grand Since that is when the DA has said she will be filing charges. She has already stepped up security for the month of August in and around the courthouse with basically all county law enforcement on call during the month in anticipation of increased risk of violent disturbances or something like that.

@higherLEVELING Fani Willis is a RICO specialist. She uses it to take down entire gangs in Atlanta. Violent street gangs are a lot scarier than Donald Trump. She is where he will meet his match and won’t get away with his bully tactics. This isn’t the Southern District of Manhattan or a federal court in Miami.

In Trump’s case the RICO violation will be tied to conspiracy to submit fake electors which is the core of the January 6th plot. Willis has already given several of the fake electors immunity after offering it publicly to all of them. This is what she has been doing since the special grand jury finished and issued the still unreleased report and votes on potential charges.

Another interesting thing about RICO cases, from what I understand, is they can incorporate federal charges and lead to charges in other jurisdictions like perhaps other states where fake slates of electors were submitted or attempted. I think there is a good chance the Fulton County case takes down the leadership of the entire GOP like they are a criminal organization.
