Mike Rounds is a Republican politician who currently serves as the junior United States Senator from South Dakota. He was first elected to the Senate in 2014 and was re-elected in 2020.

In terms of his history with Donald Trump, Rounds has generally been supportive of the former president. During Trump's impeachment trial in early 2020, Rounds voted against removing him from office. He also supported Trump's tax cuts and was generally aligned with the president's conservative agenda.

However, there have been some instances where Rounds has broken with Trump. In January 2021, following the storming of the U.S. Capitol, Rounds acknowledged Joe Biden as the legitimate winner of the 2020 presidential election, breaking with Trump's baseless claims of widespread voter fraud.

Overall, Rounds has been generally supportive of Trump, but he has not been afraid to break with him on certain issues when he believes it is in the best interest of his constituents or the country as a whole.

Like, at any point before the election?

Because he’s endorsed Tim Scott:

predicts YES

@lisamarsh Yes I am leaving these endorsement questions open until Election Day. So he could be the second or third candidate endorsed and it would still count.

predicts NO

@BTE Do you have any policies for edge cases with these endorsement questions by the way? The obvious one that comes to mind is someone endorsing multiple candidates (like Trump in the 2022 Missouri Senate primary for example).
