Last year the award was announced on January 26, so I expect this to resolve some time around then.

Yes, I totally agree. Kohli has won the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year three times, in 2017 and 2018, and he's aiming for a fourth win. If he keeps playing as well as he has and wins the World Cup, it's tough to think of anyone else who could deserve the award more. Kohli's been really consistent and has made a big impact on the game.
@AkhilaPitla I honestly believe Rohit's work in the powerplay has been at least as important to India's success in the WC as kohli. Narrative is on Kohli's side big time though, which is why I sold my Kohli no shares.
All that said - if AUS can pull out a win in this world cup, Pat Cummins will be cricketer of the year with WC, WTC champ, Ashes.
Virat Kohli's outstanding performance sets him up as a notable nominee for the ICC Men's Player of the Year 202 from the data presented over the ICC World Cup. Over 31 games since 2008, he's garnered a remarkable total of 1,384 runs, with an average of 55.36, reflecting his steady and notable run-scoring capability. He's notched up 3 hundred and nine fifties, with his highest being 107, highlighting his prowess in crucial matches. His scoring speed of 87.65 demonstrates his aggressive play, and the absence of ducks further indicates his batting dependability. These stats suggest a strong case for Kohli potentially securing the award.

@TalishaThakshanaRajalaksh Yes, I totally agree. Kohli has won the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year three times in 2017 and 2018 and is aiming for a fourth win. If he continues playing well and wins the World Cup, it's hard to think of anyone else who deserves the award more. Kohli has been consistent and made a big impact on the game. It's important to note that the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year is given to the best ODI player throughout the year, not just for a single tournament. Although winning the World Cup would be a great achievement, it's not a must for winning the award. Kohli's past performances make him a strong contender for the award.
@ThakshanaRajalakshmi he is a couple signature knocks and an IND WC win away from doing it... Rohit has the leg up on him so far tho!
@BDStraw Hey. I dont think Rohit is ahead of him. Virat has played 100 Test Matches, has 48 ODI 100's and most importantly he steps up when the team is failing, especially against tough teams like Pakistan, Australia nd all. He makes 50 or 100 when more than 2 or 3 wickets are down consecutively. This pressure can be handled better by only Kohli. Anyways both play for the same team, so this bet is just my opinion.
@TalishaThakshanaRajalaksh We will see, the hundred yesterday while pretty weird was definitely big for the Kohli Brand. Rohit’s form is spectacular right now, he’ll end the wc with a 20 or so points higher strike rate than kohli I’d bet. And he’s got a natural advantage as team captain…
@BDStraw ‘Brand’ is created when a player proves their potential. Kohli doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone. He is a Legend already. Gavaskar, Tendulkar & now kohli. No player can be compared to these players in India. Also, it’s not about the advantage as a team captain. He is just representing India. It’s about the player that makes the team win at any situations. That player shines more. Just like how KL & Virat played against Australia in the 1st match. Nly Kohli can bring stability to the team when 3 early wickets r down.
