Resolution Criteria

The market resolves YES if Indiana defeats Alabama on January 1, 2026 at 4 p.m. ET in the Rose Bowl, as broadcast on ESPN. Resolution will be determined by the final score at the end of regulation. The game takes place at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.

Background

This will mark the first-ever meeting between Indiana and Alabama. No. 1 Indiana (13-0) faces No. 9 Alabama (11-3) in a College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, with Alabama having advanced after a 34-24 first-round victory over Oklahoma. Indiana is favored by 6.5 points. Indiana has risen to prominence under second-year coach Curt Cignetti with a transfer-fueled run, while Alabama is one of the most successful programs in college football, with six national titles this century. Cignetti was an assistant at Alabama from 2007 to 2011, and Alabama's DeBoer was offensive coordinator at Indiana in 2019.

Considerations

This will be the first-ever meeting between Alabama and Indiana, with the Hoosiers holding a 27-23-1 record against SEC teams historically. This is Indiana's second Rose Bowl berth, but the Crimson Tide are regulars in Pasadena with a 5-2-1 record in the prestigious game.
