Some stats on me:

  • My VO2 max measured at 52,6 mL/kg/min on the 23rd of June 2025.

  • I will be training for about 14 weeks, my next test is planned for the 5th of October. This followup test decides the outcome of this market.

  • I am doing 2 hours of zone 2 training, and one 4x4 interval training session per week, all done on an elliptical machine

  • I have been following this protocol for the past 4 weeks without exception, starting from the 30th of June.

  • I weighed about 93kg at the time of the test, now down to around 90kg, but I dont expect further weight loss.

  • My Whoop has estimated a rise in VO2 max from 52 to 54 over the past four weeks.

  • I am 23 and have been going to the gym for 5+ years, but I have not really done any targeted cardio vascular training for long periods of time. According to Whoop statistics, in the year prior to my test, I averaged some sort of logged cardiovascular activity about once every two weeks.

  • Update 2025-11-01 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Market close date extended to November 8th, 2025 (test now scheduled for that date instead of October 5th)

    • This provides 4 additional weeks of training beyond the original 14 weeks

    • Creator was on vacation for 2 of those additional weeks with no training

    • Whoop estimate has dropped to 54 mL/kg/min as of this update

  • Update 2025-11-08 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Test result: 51.1 mL/kg/min

Market will resolve based on this measured value.

Just got tested at 51.1 ⚰️

Possible causes:

  • Jetlag + Early in the morning (varies by day) + Dehydrated? (cope?)

  • Skill issue

Whoops says I spent 35.7 hours on elliptical over the last 20 weeks. I will reconsider whether this is a good use of time.

@AxelHjmark Each hour on the elliptical made you gain -0.042mL/kg/min bro

The close time has been extended a bit, now my test is schedueled for the 8th of November, giving 4 additional weeks of training. That said, I was on vacation for 2 of those weeks with no training, and Whoops estimate have actually dropped to 54 mL/kg/min, so I don’t think this has been an advantage. Altough my weight is now around 88,5kg, which gives a boost in and of itself.

We are still grinding away

Another week done as planned, have only missed one 4x4 workout so far (last week).

Whoop now estimates 55!

Whoop still says 54

On track with the training program, 6/6 weeks with two Zone 2 hours and a 4×4 workout.

Weekly update, still on 54 according to Whoop
