Take time to reflect on what things we accomplished (individually, and as a team) that we're especially proud of! This both gives us cause to celebrate, and also lets us double down on processes and ideas that are working~ Mostly, this market is for the Manifold team; don't expect the probabilities, etc to mean much other than like a subjective vote on how much you agree with a particular statement, or how much you want to discuss it.

@MattP Great question! As a remote team, we don't often have the ability to coordinate and get into meaty discussions about things like high-level strategy. That leads to the thing you commented on about scattered focus - the offsites are a time to recenter the team and agree on priorities and direction. Also - we're here with a bunch of our users, so we can sneakily solicit user feedback in a higher-bandwidth context than through Discord text messages. (hopefully you can join us on one of our future offsites!) And it's also a recruiting ploy - both directly (would love to convert some of the guests to full-time core team members!) and indirectly (many potential hires enjoy the idea of meeting the team in person)
(that was a completely sincere statement, in case it seemed snarky - apologies, tone hard to convey via text)
@ian great feature. Still a little bit of UX churn needed IMO - one tab instead of two, clarify visually on the screen what spaces expand the grouped notifs vs linking to a comment/market - but overall a great addition to the site.
@SirSalty Nah, notifications are great; haven't noticed David's problems. Should be one tab, though, not two.
@ian I know it has some kinks to be worked out but I think it's nifty, and it seems to have led indirectly to displaying the liquidity pool shares which is great.
@JamesGrugett website doesn't feel shitty to use any more. Kudos.
@Austin respectfully, how does this impact anyone who isn't actually there?
@ian I use them and like them, just want the ability to mute certain markets. More control in general.
I: kudos to Austin for responding to people really well on discord!
[i] Excited about these; haven't used that much yet; excited to get notifications on it too! [c] A lot of value comes from sorting, and extensions too
[J] Marshall - moving these to v2 has made it a lot better. used to take 20s to bet; no more of that! Permanent improvement
Great to have it all done quickly, and also championing the idea of groups. Will see more realization of the work it after launch
[J] It's a huge task! A lot of detail, a lot of different inputs, dialogs,
[A] Bounty for Discord, Slack, Twitter, Zapier, Twitch? bots
[i] Write API specifically - could be a big lift. [c] Feature parity with Crypto - people can build better versions
[i] Been seeing people using it, running into problems with it, rate limited. ScottLawrence in Boulder has been using it, making markets about the next feature will be offered through API
A: we should probably get Marshall's input on this since he's merging stuff and has higher visibility
[i] Cool signal that people like it enough to contribute code. Even if it's not great, it's an interesting signal
Slow burner thing - once people have networks fill out - when someone creates a market, there will be more uses for these networks. Right now: vanity metric of who's following you, can discover other people maybe? Still relatively minor
S: this is good! exact group of people we should be aiming for D: seems like low number of markets. A: good for number of people (~18)
@ian I use them and like them! Checkboxes for finegrained notification settings
[A] Go ask new users and medium users about their experience
A: open to ideas of how to use our sync / in person time better. S: impact easier to determine at the end. Thanks to Alice for organizing this well!
@SirSalty Me too. I liked Notifications a lot at first; now they're too slow to be super useful unfortunately. But it's really good to not have to look through this in my emails
