Resolves yes if there is any announcement in relation to the UK-Mauritius deal on the Chagos Islands, or post-transfer Mauritian governance, that will stop the .io ccTLD from being generally available for commercial use similar to today, e.g. the TLD being abolished. A transfer of the ccTLD to Mauritian authority is fine, so long as existing domains are generally preserved and international businesses still able to register domains.
Resolves no if the deal is called off, or if there is a reasonably trustworthy announcement that clearly confirms its ongoing status for the reasonable future.
Question closes in 2030 to give time for the final deal to be negotiated and come into effect.
