Will my spouse stop reinforcing our toddler's habit of waking up around midnight by going in to reassure him when he cries, within the next two months?

If he goes from routinely to intermittently reinforcing this, it still resolves NO.  If the kiddo keeps waking up, but my spouse is letting him cry it out or someone else goes in there, still resolves YES.  I will consider about a week of firm refusal to constitute stopping.
